Who We Are
Saint Anthony Hall is a society of Yale men and women. The Hall is designed to encourage individual expression and promote the exchange of ideas by providing a forum for discussion and presentations. We are a secular educational organization.
What We Value
Saint Anthony Hall encourages literary excellence and social leadership, promoting responsible campus citizenship, stimulating social development, and fostering lifelong relationships. Our alumni members, believing in the value of the intellectual and social aspects of our 140-year old campus literary society, support and sustain our programs.
Membership Experience
For over 140 years, the core of the Saint Anthony Hall member experience has been a private member meeting held every Thursday night of the academic year. We maintain a policy of secrecy, to protect the privacy of individuals and encourage uninhibited expression.
Campuswide and Public Programs
St. Anthony Hall also sponsors other programs which exemplify commitment to enriching Yale's campus: the Chase Coggins Memorial Fellowship and Saint Anthony Hall Scholarships for Women. Throughout the academic year, Saint Anthony Hall at Yale also hosts a regular public lecture series
"...Since 1868, the Society of Saint Anthony Hall has
chosen extraordinary men and women to gather
within its walls for intellectual and personal growth.
We seek sophomores who embody the passion,
curiosity, creativity, and loyalty we require of all our members."
